The library at Polo territoriale Lecco was created with the objective to provide adequate support to the study and the research taking place on campus.
There are 8.500 monographs. Of these, about 7.500 are on open shelves according to the Dewey Decimal Classification. There are also 40 periodicals with current subscriptions, and 500 graduation thesis (up to the year 2010).
The OPAC catalog can be viewed online.
The electronic periodicals, the data banks, and the e-books can be obtained from the individual library computers or they can be accessed configuring the proxy.
The Polo di Lecco library has:
- a room on the ground floor (periodicals and monographs): there is a 64 seat-occupancy for consultation, for studying and for lending of material
- a reading room on the first floor: 104 seat-occupancy for individual studying
To access library services, users must be registered students who have received approval from the Ateneo, and have a current magnetic student identification card. Mon-Fri 8:30/19:00
It is possible to borrow up to 5 books (for a period of 4 weeks). You may extend your due date online through OPAC, downloading the free App, in person or by calling 0341-488759 for two weeks, provided there is no other request for the material. Graduates may borrow only 1 book and may extend the due date once. Late returns will result in a penalty. There is a machine for self-borrowing which works with the user’s magnetic id.
The activated online services are:
- loan request for an available document
- reservation of a borrowed document
- renewal of a loan as of the third day before the expiration date and no later than the expiration date
- cancellation of a loan request or reservation made
- interlibrary loan request
- purchase suggestion
The catalog and online services are also accessible via smartphone by downloading the free mobile application for I-Phone and Android PolimiLibrary.
Users may freely access monographic material and periodicals from the previous year that available on the shelves. After use, books should be deposited in the carts or returned to the lending desk. They should not be returned to the shelves. Students from other universities may also conduct research in our library as well as external organizations and persons registered in the Ordine degli Ingegneri, architects, and secondary education professionals from our territory who show proper identification.
Users can find graduating thesis defended at the Lecco campus up July, 2010. They are available for consultation, however, reproduction is strictly prohibited. Each user may consult 5 thesis on a daily basis, after presenting proper identification at the borrowing desk.
